Update (Oct. 10, 2013): Added mood box, updated preview image.

:bulletblack: Font: Signika Negative by Google Fonts
:bulletblack: Featured art by: =Nesmaty, =SimplySilent and `miontre. I want to thank these three special for remaining a constant inspiration and motivation for doing my best on any journal skin I create. Nes, I hope you are well! I will be waiting to see more of your stunning work. :huggle:

:bulletblack: RULES
You may install it, of course - that's what it is here for, after all - you may use it, and naturally you'll have to change it to suit your liking. All I ask is that, if you should like and install it, that you may :+fav: it and maybe leave a comment. Please do not re-upload this journal skin, remove the credits, or hijack the code or blocks of code. I thank you in advance. :)

:bulletblack: Check out the [LIVE PREVIEW]

See preview for instructions on how to customize the menu. :) The rest can be used as code in the HTML editor as well as in Rich Editing Mode (font sizes, links, thumbs, etc.). Btw., if you'd like to make your own menu icons, I am willing to send you a psd on request; just drop me a note.

:heart: And that's it! Have fun and enjoy, my devious friends! :heart:

I love it, however, I can't figure out what the link to the 'Donate' should be. Any ideas? :(

You don't have to use them all! You can just as well just take one out of the code. :)

That's not what I meant. I want to use donate but I can't figure out the URL. I've tried going on another account and donating to me to get the URL but it just directs to my page. Is there no specific donate URL you can set up, similar to the 'note me' where they just have to type the message and click send? [i know this did work before but haven't tested it recently]

Hm... I don't think there is. I only know of a direct link to give points. xSammyKayx.deviantart.com/?giv… (Whole link'll show up in your address bar). I looked through the code for something similiar with the donate pop-up menu, but only ended up with this :(: www.deviantart.com/account/poi… (Which I don't even know whether it works).

Sorry to be a pain again, but when I add in all my URLs, the two custom buttons have their name at the top instead of the bottom. I tested it out without putting in the URLs, and it worked fine. Once I put them all in, it messes up.

Naw, don't worry. That's what I'm here for. I tested it out and it works just fine for me, so next step is, show me your footer code so I can have a look.

Could you put the footer code into a txt file? It would be great if I could just copy&paste it in order to correct it. I'm sorry that this is taking so long, but I'm sure we'll find a solution.

Okay, I've isolated the problem (I think). It switches from the top to the bottom when I'm filling out this part:
When I input the URL in the first spot, nothing changes. If I click on the link, it takes me nowhere. As soon as I put the URL that I want in the second URL space, it puts the title at the top of the little icon thing. It isn't my title that is creating the error.

Both custom links that I have put in direct to pages on deviantart, so is that why it is going wrong? [I've noticed the coding is different for the custom and non-custom codes].

Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I don't understand the coding all that much. Only enough to figure out that something is going wrong T.T

Awesome skin, can't wait to try it out. Unless something "thematically specific" comes up in my journal writing needs I'm pretty sure this will be the next skin I use for a journal. Lovely piece this. *batman growly voice* Does it come in Green? :XD:

Hey!:D
Could you help me? I made my own journal skin with Adope InDesign, a program I use.
And this is the result. But I don't know how to make it as a journal that everyone can install.

on both questions, no.
I don't know how to do that code thing.
And as for cutting the pics, for each part of the journal?

I would suggest that you read some tutorials on coding, then. It's HTML and CSS; CSS for the most part. =SimplySilent has written a great and easy to follow beginner's guide on journal skins. Also, ^ginkgografix's gallery is something you don't want to miss as CSS information goes. Not to forget w3.org which contains pretty much every information on the use of CSS. Last but not least, when you hit a bump and can't get around it no matter what, just ask a coder to lend you a hand.

If you don't want to code it yourself, you can find someone else to do it for you, usually in exchange for points or money. I'll tell you, though, it's not that difficult if you are willing to put some time into it. I have started only four months or so ago myself. It's very rewarding to make design as well as code. :)

Ah! I went through your journals and saw two that use a custom journal skin. :nod: Also, "the chosen a lot" would be more accurate. We are legion.

Yes, to my shame, I have never used custom journals :blush: I always thought I was happy with being ordinary...now I'm not so sure.

As long as one still stands, you are legion. One day I shall be legion too...hopefully.

You could have a journal custom-made for your profile. There are some really, really awesome profile pages out there. =SimplySilent wrote this cool thang; she included a lot of exceptional examples. :heart:

Ah, Simply. I was waiting for you. :meow: Thank you!
The buttons were real fun to make. I think I'll go with a similar link bar style on my next (fan girl) journal skin.

And you know what? It's the first time I do not hate the lit thumbs. I really think they ain't that bad looking. :nod:

BUT ... still not holding a candle to your latest stroke of genius, the Tropical Fruit CSS. :clap:

Thank you, Gillian. :meow: I'm glad you like the color shade. I wanted to do something velvet, but not as vivid as red. So I went for a darker, muted shade instead. :) But I still wasn't sure if that was wise. ^^;

Anywho... I thought it would be boring to have the links at the top, so I just moved them south, and once I was there and had my fingers working again, you know ... oh, but the linkage really got me on this one. I'm happy that I figured that stuff out now, so I don't have to later.

Thank you! :aww: You know, I tried to incorporate a mood box this time, a lot like you do, but I couldn't make it work. I had an image, and on hover the mood box was to appear. Which worked well and all, but the mood box text appeared on top of the image, too, and I couldn't - still can't - think of a way to make the image only show when the mood box is (partially) filled, the text not appear on top of the image, and the image not vanish on hover. I finally gave up und just display: none;ed it. :|

Did you try for text before hover:

text-indent: -9999999px;

For the text on hover:

text-indent: 0px;

Or something like that??
